Used Watercolors (2004-2005)

These are patterned arrangements on the wall and floor. They consist of watercolor sets used by elementary schoolchildren. They invert the standard intention and use of these materials. The same items that were used by children to make expressive paintings in class (many of which may now decorate their parents' refrigerators), are part of these constructions that mimic orderly, high art pattern paintings and Minimalist arrangements intended for the gallery/museum space.
